Brigham City Radon Testing

Why Care About Radon?

Radon is a common carcinogen. Radon is proven to cause lung cancer in humans.

Many homes in the Brigham City area have a radon saturation above the carcinogenic amount.

Radon filters out of the topsoil, not the home. No property, new or old, is exempt from radon gas intrusion.

Each house interfaces with the soil differently. This is part of the reason why homes adjacent to each other may have radically different radon gas accumulation.

Radon gas concentration will shift every day and monthly within an acceptable range. A short-term radon gas measurement measures a small period and a solid metric of whether or not the structure has a radon gas problem.

Radon has a half-life of about half of a week. This means that radon saturation will not be worse if the property is sealed for years, months, or days.

How Does Radon Gas Penetrate a Dwelling?

No home is completely gas-proof.

Gaseous contaminants will suffuse through each grounded vent in the property such as sump pumps, utility connections, and even minor cracks in the foundation’s concrete.

The way to know certainly the saturation of radon in the house is to order a radon test.

Your Radon Testing Method

Measuring a home for radon is a special process when delivering a real estate purchase.

The radon technician will place the radon gas analyzers in the house. Radon gas probes are dropped off in crawl spaces and on the first floor. Normally a few probes are installed in the house for the radon test.

Our radon gas professional will shut every window, close the damper on the chimney, and make sure the heater or AC is functioning in the standard manner. The radon specialist will also seal every indicated window with anti-tampering tape to ensure that draft standards are upheld.

The radon gas probes remain in the property for two or three days to measure the levels of radon gas in the property. An expert will come back to the building after the radon test is done to remove the probes and create a report.
