Erda Radon Testing

What is Radon Gas?

Radon gas is a Class A carcinogen. Radon is well known to instigate lung cancer in children and adults.

A large number of properties in the Erda area have a radon saturation higher than the DNS action amount.

Radon gas comes from the soil, not the house. No property, newly built or longstanding, is exempt from radon.

Each and every home meshes with the ground underneath it differently. This is part of the reason why homes next to each other may have dramatically different radon gas saturation.

Radon gas accumulation will shift every day and with the seasons within a normal range. A quick radon gas sample measures a single day or week and a solid metric of whether or not the structure has a radon gas accumulation.

Radon has a dangerous duration of only days. This means that radon concentration won’t be any higher if the home is closed for months or years.

How Does Radon Penetrate Your House?

No home is entirely hermetically sealed.

Gaseous contaminants can seep in through every ground-facing gap in the house such as sump pumps, plumbing pipes, and invisible imperfections in the concrete slab or foundation.

Your way to know with certainty the saturation of radon in the abode is to run a radon test.

Radon Test Procedures

Inspecting a home for radon is a unique procedure when done as a part of a real estate purchase.

Our radon gas professional will situate the radon gas detectors in the dwelling. Radon gas analyzers will be placed in crawl spaces, the level above crawl spaces, and any room touching the earth. For most properties up to three analyzers are located in the home for the radon gas test.

Your radon professional will seal windows, seal the vent on the fireplace, and make sure the heating and cooling system is running in the standard manner. Our radon professional will additionally mark any required window with anti-tampering tape to confirm that closed-home standards are upheld.

The radon gas probes are left in the building for 2-3 days measuring the levels of radon gas in the house. An expert will return to the structure after the radon test is done to remove the devices and write a report.
