Provo Radon Testing

Why Care About Radon Gas?

Radon is a dangerous cancer-causing agent. Radon gas is proven to lead to lung cancer in people.

A large number of houses in the Provo area have a radon concentration at or above the actionable amount.

Radon comes from the soil, not the building. No house- new or old – is exempt from radon intrusion.

Every home interacts with the topsoil underneath it in a different way. That is why homes adjacent to one another have significantly different radon gas levels.

Radon gas concentration will fluctuate daily and monthly within a normal range. A quick radon gas sample measures a small period and a dependable bellwether of whether or not the structure has radon gas contamination.

Radon gas has a half-life of only a few days. radon accumulation will not be higher if the home is closed for years, months, or days.

How Does Radon Gas Infiltrate your house?

No house is completely sealed.

Radon gas will suffuse through every grounded vent in the house such as sump pumps, utility connections, and even small cracks in the foundation’s concrete.

Your way to know with certainty the concentration of radon gas in the home is to run a radon test.

Our Radon Gas Testing Procedure

Probing a home for radon is an important service when completed with a house transaction.

A radon gas specialist will install the radon gas analyzers in the dwelling. Radon probes will be located in crawl spaces and on the first floor. Typically between 1 and 3 probes are left in the house for the radon testing.

The radon gas professional will close all windows, seal the vent on the fireplace, and confirm the air conditioning is running in the required manner. Our radon gas expert will also seal all necessary windows with anti-tampering tape to confirm that closed-house conditions are met.

The radon apparatus stay in the structure for two or three days measuring the amount of radon gas in the house. A specialist will come back to the building after the radon measurement is complete to take the monitors and write a report.
