Summit Park Radon Testing

Radon is a common-place carcinogen. Radon gas is well known to cause lung cancer in humans.

38%+ of properties in the Summit Park area have a radon gas saturation above the DNS action amount.

Radon gas filters out of the silt, not the home. No property, newly built or longstanding, is fully encapsulated against radon gas.

Every property interfaces with the ground beneath it uniquely. That is part of the reason why houses next door to others have dramatically different radon concentrations.

Radon gas saturation will fluctuate on different days and seasonally inside a safe range. A quick radon sample measures a single day or week and is a solid metric of whether or not the land has radon contamination.

Radon gas has a lifespan of only a few days. As such, radon gas concentration will not be worse if the house is sealed for months, days, or years.

How Does Radon Penetrate the Property?

Houses are not supposed to be entirely airtight.

Vapors will infiltrate through every ground-facing gap in the home such as sump pumps, plumbing, and slight flaws in the foundation’s concrete.

Your way to know with certainty the levels of radon gas in the abode is to run a radon test.

Our Radon Test Procedures

Measuring a dwelling for radon gas is a special process when done with a house purchase.

A radon professional will situate the radon analyzers in the structure. Radon analyzers will be situated in crawl spaces, the level above crawl spaces, and any room touching the earth. For most properties, a few devices are installed in the house for radon gas testing.

The radon expert will close windows, seal the damper on the chimney, and confirm the air conditioning is operating in the required manner. Our radon gas specialist will additionally seal every indicated window with tamper indication tape to confirm that closed home standards are met.

The radon probes remain in the structure for 2-3 days to record the saturation of radon gas in the building. A specialist will revisit the house once the radon test is finished to return the monitors and generate a report.
